Hi, I’m Lyssa Bivens.

I see clients online and in person in Springfield, MO. When you start therapy as a couple or an individual it is natural to be worried whether the therapist you see will be able to provide a component and safe environment for the work you need to do emotionally or relationally.

I specialize in working with couples where one or both people have a past trauma. I can help you turn you past pain into a place of connection in your marriage. After working with me you marriage will become the anchor you need to whether rocky storms.

My Approach

Modalities

In my work with clients I pull from modalities of therapy including:

EMDR, Gottman, EFT, and approaches grounded in neurobiology and attachment.

My approach to counseling is integrative, with an emphasis on somatic and holistic care. I am trained in the Gottman Method, an evidence-based modality for working with couples. I also utilize EMDR, a modality that can help individuals move forward after trauma.

Experience

I received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University. I have experience working with individuals and couples seeking counseling for a number of reasons such as processing past trauma, relationship difficulties, and managing symptoms of anxiety and depression.
