Hi, I’m Mercy Cash.

I am a therapist at The Marriage Workshop, providing both in-person counseling in Springfield, Missouri, and online counseling throughout Missouri. My goal is for clients to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and safe. Most importantly, I want them to leave with a renewed sense of hope and confidence in their ability to move forward.

I am passionate about helping couples strengthen their relationships through improved communication, healing from infidelity and betrayal, and preparing for marriage through premarital counseling. For couples who desire it, I enjoy integrating faith into the counseling process in a way that supports their values and relationship goals.

In addition to my work with couples, I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and trauma. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where clients can gain insight, build resilience, and move toward lasting growth and healing.

Outside of the counseling office, I enjoy learning about the intersection of the arts and therapy, as well as staying current with new research in couples counseling. I love spending time in my garden, reading a good book, and exploring arts and crafts projects.

My Approach

Modalities:

In my work with clients I pull from modalities of therapy including:

EMDR, Focus Marital Therapy, EFT, and approaches grounded in neurobiology and attachment.

When I work with couples in marriage counseling, I begin by offering a safe and supportive environment where we can work together to understand the dynamics of the relationship. We then identify the hidden cycle that is leading you into conflict and disconnection. After this, our goal is to create a connection within your marriage that becomes the anchor of your healthy marriage. When you are ready to get started I look forward to working with you.

Experience:

I received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Evangel University. I have experience working with individuals and couples seeking counseling for a number of reasons such as processing past trauma, relationship difficulties, and managing symptoms of anxiety and depression.
